Shalimar Wellness Run 2025

Since childhood, I’ve seen advertisements for Shalimar Coconut Oil – the same familiar tune and packaging that continues today. This time, the brand organized the Shalimar Wellness Run, and I decided to take part.

When I first registered for the event, I honestly thought it would be held near Shalimar Station, but it turned out to be at Godrej Waterside, Salt Lake Sector V, on 16th November 2025.

The BIB and T-shirt distribution took place over two days (Friday and Saturday before the race) at Decathlon, Salt Lake. I collected mine on Friday, right after office hours. Collecting it early was a good move; not only did it save time on Saturday, but it also gave me a chance to wash and prepare the event T-shirt in advance.

The 5K run was scheduled to start at 7 AM, which was a bit later than usual. On race day, I woke up at 5 AM, got ready, and reached the venue by 6:30 AM using an InDrive cab. The podium area was set up in the open space inside Godrej Waterside Infinity. RJ Sayak was hosting the event, and the warm-up session began with Zumba.

There were several run categories – 3K, 5K, 10K, and 16K. Some young kids also joined in, enthusiastically performing Zumba on stage while everyone followed along. It was a joyful sight.

Around 7:05 AM, the 5K race started. The route was smooth and scenic, running alongside the lake. Hydration points were well placed throughout, although photographers were noticeably missing along the course (they’re usually present at most running events).

The crowd was wonderfully diverse. I saw an elderly lady running the 5K in a saree – truly inspiring! Near the podium, I also spotted One-Leg Uday and the famous blind runner. Seeing such determined participants always fills me with motivation.

I finished the 5K in 34 minutes and 26 seconds, which I’m quite happy with. The post-run breakfast was simple and perfect – upma and banana, exactly the kind of food I prefer after a run.

The overall management, atmosphere, and participant enthusiasm made the Shalimar Wellness Run 2025 a memorable experience.

This event has motivated me to continue improving. From the next running season, I plan to move up to 10K runs and train consistently. There are multiple running events scheduled every Sunday until February 2026, and I’ve already registered for a few.

Running has become more than a weekend activity – it’s a journey toward better health, focus, and discipline. The Shalimar Wellness Run reminded me that every finish line is just the start of a new goal.
